I don’t know about you but I get a serious case of the Winter Blues. I am not a huge fan of cold weather because I’m already always cold — even in the summer! No joke, I’m in my apartment right now with the space heater on under my desk, in full sweats and socks.
Fall, I love fall, but it seems like fall never lasts long enough. This year it was hot through October (yay!) but then “fall” was only about a month, and now it’s freezing. I can handle the freezing for about a month or two. Around the holidays I think it’s kinda fun to have cold weather — especially snow. I love to watch the snow fall. I don’t however, love the temperature it has to be for snow to fall.
So at the beginning of every winter season, I’m already dreaming of a warm getaway for when I know I’ll be having major cabin fever. Usually a few weeks into January I get really down since there is a full two months left of super cold weather before signs of spring. That is when it’s the worst — January, February and early March.
Last year we went to the Bahamas — which was awesome — but we didn’t end up going until April. That was a little late to cure my winter blues, but it was still amazing. Having been in Grand Cayman with Princess Cruises recently I have a fresh memory of the hot hot sun and a gorgeous beach.
Right about this time brands start releasing their resort wear. It’s depressing to pull up NET-A-PORTER and see a ton of bikinis and sandals when it’s snowing outside. But then I start to dream a little — where can I escape this season? And equally fun to think about — what will I take with me!?
