There’s been a mini trend in the blog world recently … everyone is exhausted, uninspired, and ready to refresh. I think this is a typical feeling for those of us who have been blogging for a while (I can’t believe it’s almost 5.5 years since I started blogging!?!) especially after the holidays and the beginning of a new year (although here we are almost two months into 2013!). Erin calls it slow blogging. Victoria says enough is enough. I could sit here and quote about half of Megan’s what ALT Summit Taught Me post for all of its amazing statements, but I’ll just let you read it. And I’m pretty sure there are more posts I wanted to mention here, but you know how things get lost in internetland (does anyone have a bookmarking system they like besides Evernote?). And I’m pretty pissed I wasn’t paying attention to Stefan Sagmeister‘s keynote at ALT — because I was working. Um, hello — I’m at a damn conference and the most inspiring talk I missed because I had to get something done!?! Bleh.
Have you read similar posts to the ones I mentioned? Leave me a link to them in the comments so I can read them. Continue reading…

Some people don’t like the word resolution (a formal expression of opinion or intention made; a resolve or determination). Maybe because they never stick to theirs, who knows? Whatever word you use when thinking about what you hope to do in the year to come: goal (the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end), or intention (an act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result; the end or object intended; purpose) — they all basically mean the same thing.
I’ve said before that I didn’t want to look back at 2012 with regret about what I was able to accomplish — and while I have a very hard time trying to please myself, I know I worked really hard, and to have worked any harder would have probably made me sick. So basically, I generally accomplished my main goal — establish my business and make it consistent. I made other goals too, many of which were about half-accomplished. This year I feel more determined to accomplish the resolutions/goals/intentions I am going to set so without further ado:
MY 2013 RESOLUTIONS
1. Be more thoughtful. Ever since I moved to DC I feel like I’ve been selfish. I rarely think about anyone else on their special day. I forget to send birthday cards, gifts for occasions, etc. It’s ridiculous. There are no excuses for my unthoughtfulness. Continue reading…

I’m going to to do a little project. I’d love for you to participate in the comments if you’d like to. There will be a follow-up post to come.
What are your habits? Daily and/or weekly.
What do you do almost every day or at least twice a week? Be honest.
Do you really go to the gym once a week? What do you actually eat consistently?
Whatever you list, make sure it’s been your habits during the past month or two.

The Meg is tired. I’m excited to sleep in my own bed tonight with my Mr. after being out of town for 14 of the past 20 days, (currently in the airport). I am ready to head back to DC today after a wonderful time in NYC and Kansas City. I am looking forward to getting back into a groove. I love traveling, especially when its full of work, play, family, and friends (like these trips were), but know that getting back into a rhythm will feel good and be productive. Continue reading…
