My DC // Alejandra of Frijolita

I met Alejandra while shooting my very first My City with Nikki. Managing Editor of AARP’s blog and a social media advisor by day and blogger by night on her site Frijolita. Not big on the word foodie, Alejandra is definitely a connoisseur of food considering that is the main topic she writes about on her blog and for other websites. She knows all of the great places around town, and she took me to a few places that I may have to make regular stops at now.
Alejandra: I spend most of my week in Dupont Circle and Chinatown/Penn Quarter, which are incredibly vibrant, exciting parts of DC. But come the weekend, I’m usually craving something a little quieter and low key. Woodley Park is a completely underrated neighborhood in DC, and it embodies that low key, casual vibe I need sometimes.

MY DC // Cori Sue of Bitches Who Brunch

I had the pleasure of spending a sunny Sunday with the adorable marathon-running Cori Sue — one of the bitches of Bitches who Brunch. She’s actually not a bitch, but she sure does know what she wants, and she gets it. She’s a feisty, fun 20-something taking on DC one brunch at a time.
MY HOBOKEN // Jessie of Style & Pepper

Earlier this summer I spent time with my friend Jessie of Style & Pepper. Jessie and I lived in Kansas City at the same time, had lots of friends in common — and never met! I still don’t know how it was possible. We connected over the Internet, and then met up for the first time in New York. She ended up moving to Hoboken and me to DC, so now that we live four hours away from each other, I still see her pretty frequently (any reason to head up to NY!). She’s sweet, smart, savvy, and a vintage mixing pro. See where she took me in her new hood of Hoboken with her pooch Sadie.
MY PHILADELPHIA // Naomi of Design Manifest

I had the pleasure of doing a My City feature on Naomi of Design Manifest while I was in Philadelphia a few weeks ago giving a seminar. Naomi and I met in New York while attending BlogFest but were familiar with each other prior to that via blogland. She is delightful, funny, and a very talented interior designer (ahem, hire her). You’ve probably seen her place (or pinned it) on Design*Sponge.
During our day she said, “To me, happiness is guacamole and a margarita.” I knew we were in for some fun.
See where Naomi took me around Philadelphia after the jump!
