LINK LOVE // Sequin Bikini + Chocolate Mousse

May 5, 2013

loren hope stud earrings

Don’t you love late surprise birthday gifts? I mean, when you think your birthday is long gone, something shows up in the mail from a friend that doesn’t need to send you a gift. I love those types of gifts. These Loren Hope Sunburst Studs are one of those gifts. Thanks for making my day friend (you know who you are)!

FOR A LAUGH // Last night I was nursing a sunburn (stayed out at the pool on its opening day a little too long) and a tummy ache (either due to too much sun or the inordinate amount of garlic I put in our dinner). I somehow landed on this tumblr #whatshouldwecallme and about died of laughter. Particularly this video with a cat. I don’t even really like cats (except Lara’s cat) but this video just cracked me up. I mean, cats don’t usually miss when they are jumping, so this cat must have just been so tired. And the attempt was just hysterical. Did you think it was as funny as I did? I mean I was crying. My husband even came in the room and was like, what are you laughing at? I also liked this one — Jealous much? I could look at this tumblr for days…

PHOTOGRAPHY // I couldn’t stop myself from looking through each kid and reading about their toys — a photography series by Gabriele Galimberti.

DOG BED // The coolest dog bed.

GENIUS // I hope this rubber duckie comes to the States! One of those ideas that you just sit back and think — genius!

MOTHER’S DAY // Alert! It’s next weekend! If you still need gift ideas you can peruse the pages of the most recent issue of to & from.

HEALTHY DESSERT // Healthy Chocolate Moose? Yes. Thank you Hilary, I’m definitely going to try this.

GEOMETRIC // Stunning tile pattern for a shower.

NYC WORKSHOP // Needing some girl-time or just an extra boost of confidence and style tips? Nab up a ticket to the Pepperologie workshop next weekend in NYC (they are only $50!).

SEQUIN BIKINI // Now this is my type of sequin bikini.

ON AGING // My friend Heidi is a legit writer. A very talented legit writer. I loved the piece she wrote on turning 31. Continue reading…

Link Love + A Gluten-Free Recipe Book

April 21, 2013

modern luxury book

Last week started off pretty crazy as we launched the Spring issue of to & from. After the launch I was able to start catching up on email and other projects for the rest of the week. Friday morning I had coffee with my friend Hilary and then strolled up Wisconsin Ave. in Georgetown because it was the first day of the French Market — so all the shops had sidewalk sales where I picked up Modern Luxury by Richard Mishaan for a steal!

Links for the week:

GLUTEN-FREE RECIPES // Lisa has released an eCookbook — Living Gluten-Free With Style & Grace. Gluten-free recipes for entertaining and everyday. If you struggle with gluten, Lisa’s new eCookbook and blog are full of recipes and shopping lists to make your life easier.

WILD MEASURE // My friend Megan over at The Fresh Exchange has some exciting news. I love people who THINK BIGGER!

NYC BUILDINGS // Taking a moment to know your city and learn about the history of it is just well, cool. I love this post Nicole did about the Socony-Mobil Building in which the exterior is stamped stainless steel. Pretty freaking cool.

SAN FRANCISCO WEDDING // My B Bar bartender-in-crime Victoria, had her gorgeous wedding featured on Style Me Pretty.

GET YOUR JUICE ON // Um, beauty juice — yes.

NYC STYLE WORKSHOP // My friend (and fashion blogger) Jessie of Style & Pepper is doing another one of her style workshops in NYC — Pepperologie! Get the details and date here.

SHOE DIY // Got a shoe problem? I recently learned how my friend Tammy solved hers. See if her DIY shoe rack will work for you!

PINNING WITH BAUBLEBAR // I’m guest pinning with BaubleBar for the next month! Check out my Pinterest board here.

SO NEWSY // Unless you are a news junkie (okay well who hasn’t been during this whole Boston ordeal) and you don’t want to sound like an idiot, then you need to sign up for theSkimm. A daily dose of news to your inbox each morning (I literally read mine while still in bed) to keep you updated on important things around the US and the world.

Have a lovely day — go outside and take a walk!

Link Love + 2 New Tees

March 24, 2013

sunday morning megbiram.com

A little link love for your Sunday morning. Mine looked like this (above).

I am loving this new-to-me food blog My New Roots.

It’s amazing how spacious (feeling) Jordan’s light-filled 500-square-foot apartment in San Francisco is. Featured on A Cup of Jo.

I just want to go here.

Miranda Kerr’s Superfoods — I’m interested. Hilary tells us on Genuine Joy.

Outfit posts are a lot harder than people think! Casie got out of her comfort zone and looks amazing!

I’m in major need of new hair products so this spray is on my list to try.

LINK LOVE + SOME NEWS

March 16, 2013

the paloma

Pretty sure I need to have a Paloma when the weather gets warm. (above via Oh So Beautiful Paper)

It’s the end of an era. Google Reader is going away. So if you read THE EDIT via Google Reader, you are going to have to make the switch to another feed. And I actually don’t suggest Feedburner because there’s been talk that is also going away at some point. If you’ve never heard of Bloglovin’ that is the reader that I use and you can follow me there, just click here.

Soooooo the news… I’ve mentioned before (either on the blog or in social media) that I’ve been working on one more biz project, and it is finally getting close to launching. It will be fully explained on Monday right here, but you can get a peek at the new project/biz I’ve been working on with Victoria here — the b bar. If you want, you can sign up for the newsletter for updates, or find it on Facebook & Twitter as well.

Who’s jelly that Grace got to hang out with the amazing Lulu Frost… me!

One of my favorite interior decor & furniture shops.

This is real people. A real live Nailmatic.

I do think I’d be darling at it.

This board has me aching for a vacation.

Ok, I’m off to run 8 miles… :/  What are you up to this weekend? What were some of your favorite blog posts & articles around the web? Leave me a link in the comments.

Link Love // Snow Art & A Gluten Free Meal Plan

March 9, 2013

simon beck // snow art

Holy snow art! Orienting mapmaker, Simon Beck, creates these amazing designs in the snow with snow shoes. First he draws them on paper, finds a large space and creates them — sometimes taking up to 12 hours to finish it. Just wow. See more pics on Mary Catherine’s post.

Personally I feel like the hardest part of cooking/eating healthy is planning the meals & going to the grocery store. I don’t love cooking or meal planning, or going to the grocery store for that matter, but it’s an necessity. It makes the week so much easier if I do plan a few meals out and shop for them — but to plan & shop for them, you have to find those recipes. Ugh. If you are gluten-free (I’m not, but that doesn’t necessarily matter) Lisa has made a 5-day Gluten Free Meal Plan including links to recipes. So helpful!

If only I had enough hair to pull off multiple braids.

Naomi’s new cottage is coming along nicely.

Probably need this new lululemon tank for yoga this spring (lots of new spring colors!).

If you live in Kansas City and are looking for a social media & design internship with my uber-creative friends Morgan & Carrie at Ampersand Design Studio — now’s your chance!

My friend Heidi is such a talented writer. I love even the shortest posts she writes, like this one about her Oma (her very German grandma).

Jen turned me on to this cool Etsy shop — Lush Interiors.

I loved getting to peek into Jane’s New York apartment in the new Matchbook Magazine.

What did you come across this week? Leave me a link in the comments.
