I’ve always been a fan of emerald green. Maybe it’s the Irish in me, but it’s a color that never goes out of style, it just gets ‘hot’ every now and then. Now that Pantone declared it one of their colors of year for 2013 it’s blowing up. Once I saw this Ladies’ Home Journal image from December 1964 (via here) I knew it would be my intro to an emerald post. Magazine was my specialty in journalism school so I have a minor obsession with old magazines. I had to limit my emerald picks because this post could have gone on for days, but here are some of my favorite emerald items out right now.

Besides the whole NBC-not-airing-events-as-they-happen and then announcing the results before they air it — I’ve been enjoying the London Olympics. I think they finally figured out that they can’t talk about who wins until they air it on primetime, duh. I have to be really careful when I look at twitter too. I think we can all agree that the color-blocked ZARA heel is sick. However, I walk or take metro to most places now that heels are the last thing I want to wear and I put myself on a heel-buying freeze (oh wait, actually an everything-buying freeze). But this shoe obviously inspired this cobalt and mint post.
