MAY WISHLIST

May 1, 2013

may wishlist

I cannot believe it is already May. I repeat, I cannot believe it is already May! However, I am elated that it is May! Finally the weather is warmer, the sun is shining, and everyday is one day closer to our pool opening. I think it opens this weekend, but I’m not positive. I hope so because it’s supposed to be mid-70s and I’ve got a giant stack of magazines just waiting to be read outside.

May Wishlist (clockwise)

JAYSON HOME // I like to only have one notebook that I use at a time, otherwise I’ll have seven notebooks around my house and then I can never find what I’m looking for among the notebooks. These graphic notebooks are so chic you can leave them out on your desk.

AUDEN // This Lennox Fringe necklace is loooong. It’s a really cool statement necklace that can turn any LBD into an amazing outfit.

ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS // I absolutely love this brand (visually — I don’t own any yet unfortunately). This pair of Thalia sandals is my favorite — it’s so simple you can wear them with anything for years to come.

BAUBLEBAR // These Opal Galactic Drops are the right mix of neutral and glam. They have very subtle colors but yet stay neutral and they are cheap!

REBECCA TAYLOR // This half tropical tee is a fresh floral top I’m sure I’d wear all summer long.

ZARA // I’m in need of a high black heel for the summer and this lace-up sandal has some interest and height.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM // You can’t really go wrong investing in a large tan tote bag. I’d carry this for years.

CLOVER CANYON // This Jaipur Jungle tank is perfect for super hot days because the back is a crossback which will let in a little air.

What’s on your wishlist this month?

FASHION TREND // Global Boho Style

April 25, 2013

boho chic style

When I think of “boho” style out of context I typically think of it as it relates to my own style, which is more of a global and sophisticated boho. All the patterns and colors of your typical boho, but with with a refined look. There’s something about the patterns and colors combinations that seem effortless yet inspired. I’m also consistently attracted to the patterns and textures that global boho style incorporates. These pieces you can pair with jeans and white tee and walk out the door looking like you thought harder than you really did about your outfit. I always end up reaching for my global/boho pieces more often than I think I will, so to me they are always worth the investment. Or if you can find pieces that you love at ASOS or ZARA nab them up while they are still there!

Global Boho Fashion Items (clockwise):

GOLD & GRAY NECKLACE // This Turquoise and Gold Arrowhead Necklace mixes faceted gold pyrite and turquoise beads with a gold arrowhead pendant. The mixture of beads take this necklace to the next level.

STELA 9 WEEKENDER BAG // This Isabel weekender is hot hot hot. Seriously, all I can think of when I see it is — come to mama!

CLOVER CANYON DRESS // Clover Canyon is all the rage right now and I am totally on board with the obsession. This printed crepe de chine dress maxi dress is everything (as Rachel Zoe says). So easy to wear, you’ll throw this on all summer long.

DOLCE & GABANNA CLUTCH // The ultimate luxe boho — this Miss Dea raffia-tasseled woven clutch.

ADIA KIBUR NECKLACE // There are infinite possibilities for this silver bib necklace.

ZARA SANDALS // These ethnic flat sandals look so easy and comfy. Throw them on with jean shorts and take a walk.

TOPSHOP NECKLACE // Bringing a bit of edge to a boho look, this necklace is simple yet makes a statement.

MATTHEW WILLIAMSON CLUTCH // Dress up your beachy coverup with this Swarovski crystal-embellished suede clutch.

AERIN SANDALS // Chase kids or the bus in style with this Luz sandal.

ZARA SKIRT // I’m not a huge skirt-wearer but this ethnic jacquard mini skirt makes me think twice about bearing my gams.

MATTHEW WILLIAMSON CLUTCH // Matthew Williamson is easily one of my favorite designers. Always inventive, his designs are inspired yet wearable. This embellished suede clutch is perfect if you just want a touch of boho.

BLONDE AMBITION SANDALS // This Vendeta sandal (don’t you love the name!?) mixes black and white with the chic boho look.

Which item is your fave? Do you like the chic global look?

The second I saw this vintage kilim rug at Furbish it was the inspiration for this Weekly Faves post. The colors are amazing! I’ve also been waiting for the perfect time to post these wood tassel bracelets.

DESIGN DUO // Polka Dot

March 25, 2013

polka dot

I must admit, I’m not a huge fan of polka dots on myself. I like them. I think they are cute. I own one polka dot blouse. I like them on other people, but they aren’t right up my own alley. These two polka-dotted items however have an extra touch of sophistication that I love. The colors and the subtle design choices that were made — especially the black on black polka dots — makes them interesting to me.

ART // Optical Abstract by Dellard Cassity

HANDBAG // Perforated leather shoulder bag by Marni

What are your thoughts on polka dots? Do you like them? Love them? Think they should only be on kids?

Fashion // Spring Wishlist

March 20, 2013

spring fashion wishlist

Spring is here!!! I’m so excited as I am NOT a fan of cold weather. As much as I just want to put on my sandals and tank tops, we still have a few chilly months to go before that is a reality (especially here in DC). It’s so hard to narrow down my Spring Wishlist to few enough items to put into a post, so I may have to do some subsequent spring fashion wishlist posts … but here are some items topping my list this season!

Spring Wishlist: Erickson Beamon earrings / Equipment blouse / Rebecca Minkoff Ascher Mini bag / Maje dress / Mania Mania necklace / Loeffler Randall booties / Charles David silver pumps / ZARA gray top / Rebecca Minkoff satchel
