A few weeks ago a new west elm opened here in DC! The new location is at 1728 14th St NW (the other is in Georgetown, just a block down from my studio!). Prior to the opening they asked me to help them with a dinner that would include some west elm people and a few DC tastemakers. Unfortunately I couldn’t attend the dinner myself because I was going on a work trip to the Caribbean that week, but I did get to help out with the style of the dinner, and most excitingly, I got to inject some of my artsy work into it!
The awesome people at west elm wanted me to incorporate my painting into the dinner because three prints of my paintings are available at the new west elm on 14th street right now as a part of their local assortment (my friend Tammy caught a great shot of them!). So we agreed that painting some of their placemats would be a fun addition to the decor at this dinner.
The dinner was at Table (just down the street from the new west elm). It turned out lovely. I was sad I couldn’t be there, but was so happy with how it turned out, and how the painted placemats went with the rest of the decor and florals styled by Kruse & Vieira Events and Sweet Root Village.
