So lately I’ve put a lot on my plate… and I kinda love it. I thrive off being busy. But don’t get me wrong, I love vacations and think that R&R is extremely important especially for creativity. And actually I’m really excited about going back to Kansas City for a long holiday, however, I would also love to see a beach sometime soon… it’s getting to that point where my summer color has worn off and I feel like some Vitamin D via the sun would do nothing but good.
I feel so grateful that I have things on my plate that I love. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in 2012 is that you really can pave your own way. It just takes action. Whether that’s getting educated, or spending your nights & weekends chipping away at your goal, it’s doable. I have some people I’d like to thank for recent features. In addition to a HUGE thanks to everyone that has posted, tweeted, Facebook updated about to & from, I have some other people I want to give a little shout out to.
Above is a shot from a Warby Parker shoot I did recently. I can’t wait to see the actual photos (this on is from my iPhone). You may not see me in my glasses often, but I actually wear them every single day. So thank you Warby Parker for having me as a part of your #WPclasstrip.
If you haven’t seen the newest issue of Adore Home Magazine, of course you should because it’s bright & cheerful as always. I want to thank them for including me in their Blog Loving section (page 35).
If you get email notifications from CUSP or you stalk their site (not a bad thing — I do) you might have seen their Holiday Blogger Picks! Thanks for including me CUSP!
I recently hosted a sale on The Foundary and gave away one of my paintings. Not only is The Foundary a great site full of deals, the people that work there are super sweet, though I’m not surprised because are out of Omaha, Nebraska, and well everyone in the Midwest is nice. Thanks for partnering with me The Foundary!
Thanks to Matchbook Magazine for having me as a Guest Editor in November.
Thanks to ALT Summit for having me back as a speaker this coming January!
I feel so grateful for all of this and I know I couldn’t do any of this without all of you (my readers) and all of them (anyone who features/partners with me). So thank you all. I really really appreciate it.
I’m also hosting a holiday event at the newly renovated INTERMIX in Georgetown next Wednesday (12/5 from 6 to 8 p.m.). This isn’t just any holiday event with drinks & shopping (although there will be both), please bring your gently used handbags and jewelry to donate to Suited For Change — an organization that enables low-income women to increase their employment and job retention potential. I can’t think of a charity more inline with the direction I’ve taken with my own life — being a young female entrepreneur. I’ll be going through my bags and jewelry this weekend to donate.
