There have been a few times in my life where I’ve had to blink a few times to make sure what I was reading in my inbox was real. Once was when Nike emailed me, asking me to run the DC Women Half Marathon. That was a definite blink your eyes and reread. The opportunity I’m telling you about today gave me the same feeling — a luxury road trip with One Kings Lane and The Luxury Collection. Would I be up for it? Is my schedule open? Upon learning more details about this luxury road trip — there wasn’t much I wouldn’t move on my calendar to take part in this luxury road trip. Yes of course I’m up for it! Any opportunity to travel — especially in the lap of luxury — I’m in.
Follow along with me — I’ll be instagramming and tweeting (@megbiram on both) my way through the northeast staying at The Luxury Collection hotels and resorts and experiencing what they have to offer, and will be using the hashtag #LCRoadTrip.
So what exactly is this luxury road trip? The Luxury Collection has teamed up with One Kings Lane to embark on a three-city week-long luxury road trip — and they’ve asked me to go with them. (!!!) We will be staying in three of The Luxury Collection’s Hotels and Resorts in the northeast, experiencing all of the amazing things each hotel has to offer, as well as having experiences in each city.
Where are we going? First we are heading to The Equinox Resort & Spa in Vermont. Oh Vermont in the fall. I cannot wait to see those famous leaves! Since the northeast has had a warm fall until now, I’m eager to see the colors of the leaves come next week … hopefully some yellows, oranges and brilliant reds! This leg of the trip has the theme of nature. I’ve never been to Vermont, but I remember when my parents took a trip in the fall up to New England to see the foliage — they still talk about how beautiful it was.
This isn’t your regular road trip — this is a luxury road trip. So as I think about what to pack for the week I’m keep the word luxury in mind. A scenic drive to see the leaves, a driving experience with Land Rover — nothing that requires workout clothing. To get me in the luxury packing mood I’ve put together an outfit with two options of accessories for each destination on the trip.
Shop this outfit: KENZO flying tiger sweater / CURRENT/ELLIOTT the ankle seamstress with back zip / TOPSHOP faux leather satchel / DEBORAH LIPPMANN don’t tell mama nail lacquer / LOEFFLER RANDALL emerson slip-on bootie / LOEFFLER RANDALL duffel bag / SILVANO black matte silver mirror sunglasses / ASH bowie wedge sneaker
Next we’ll be driving over to Boston — this is a road trip! I’ve never been to Vermont, and I’ve never been to Boston, so I have an extra level of excitement. In Boston we will be staying at The Liberty in the heart of Boston’s Beacon Hill.
The theme for Boston is living history. A low heel or a chunky boot — both will work for this type of city adventure. Think local fish market and little shops.
Shop this outfit: EQUIPMENT signature silk shirt in rhubarb / JOIE mid rise skinny in smoke / KELLY WEARSTLER rosella pendant necklace / SNEHA VARMA tacit shoulder bag / LOEFFLER RANDALL cheetah printed pump / TOM FORD naked nail lacquer / LIZZIE FORTUNATO safari clutch / LOEFFLER RANDALL Fenton Buckle Bootie
Our last stop on this luxury road trip — you guessed it — New York City. For New York the theme is fitting — drama. So we will of course be staying at The Chatwal. To gain the quintessential New York experience we will be entertained. Here I come Rockettes and Broadway!
A New York City outfit — to me — is a bit understated. This Helmut Lang dress would be perfect for what we’ve got on the itinerary. For a New York experience like this, statement heels are in order.
Shop this outfit: HELMUT LANG leather trimmed dress / TONYA HAWKES miro clutch / ZARA leather snake ankle boot / FALLON roswell crystal plate earrings / JILL GOLDEN vera earrings / R&Y AUGOUSTI blue two-tone box clutch / GIORGIO ARMANI 502 nail lacquer / DEREK LAM fia ankle strap sandals
