Sometimes a little shot midday can boost your creativity — right? Don’t worry, the shots we’re pouring won’t get you in trouble with your boss. They will be short ebooks focused on one specific topic. Small shot — small price.
Our first two shots: How To Develop A Great Guest Post Series (just $5) and The Importance of Permalinks. When I listen to Revelry by Kings of Leon I go into a trance. It’s definitely my favorite Kings of Leon song, and I love the word revelry — defined as noisy partying or merrymaking, or lively and noisy festivities, especially when these involve drinking a large amount of alcohol. Since I turned 30 this month, the word seemed more than fitting for April’s MANIFESTO word. Sometimes you just need to go out and have a really good time.
As always, the tees are limited edition so nab yours up while I still have them HERE!
The tee is a white crew neck with the word revelry in gold foil. It is a FITTED women’s cut tee which means it’s a tighter cut. I personally wear a small and it fits close to my body and I will NOT be drying it in the dryer. It’s a super soft cotton jersey. Please know that gold foil (in any capacity) will wear off at some point. So if you love this tee and you wash it and dry it a million times the gold foil will fade eventually (which might even look cooler). Just a warning. As always, there is a size chart in the photos for each top.

Where does the time go? How are we already in mid-April? Crazy how quickly time flies. We wanted to get the SPRING issue of to & from out early enough for you be able to find the perfect gift and even to order personalized gifts for the occasions you have coming up. This time around we’ve gotten a little more personal with our curators and we had them give us a little more insight as to why they picked some of the gifts they are recommending. Check out the Spring issue HERE.
For all things thoughtful and personalized, on page 4 we’ve picked out some of our favorite items from the destination for personalization — Mark & Graham. I gave my dad two sets of these coasters for Christmas, one set said “MIZ” the other said “ZOU” and it was an obvious hit. Not your typical initials, but anything with the MU Tigers is a hit gift with my dad.
On page 5 we’ve partnered up with Lamps Plus to give away one of my favorite lamps — the Flynn Mercury Black Reactive Glass Table Lamp (worth $457!!!) — you can enter to win on our Facebook page HERE. (Wish I could enter!)
The rest of the issue is jam-packed with some awesome gift ideas for everything you’ve got going on this spring and summer — Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, and even though Weddings, Baby Showers and Birthdays are all year long we decided to cover them too.
We really hope you enjoy this issue! Feel free to share it with friends, and post it on your own Facebook page. Help spread the ease of gift-giving!
Find to & from on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Luvocracy for gifts all year long!

Wait, is Monday ever Funday? Maybe for those at Coachella. I can’t even look at my instagram… too painful. Sorry for the partial silence around here the past few days. I’ve been working like mad on the next issue of to & from (coming out THIS WEEK!). Um can you say plate = too full? Once again I bit off a little more than I could chew (do you see a theme here…) with launching The B Bar last week, the spring issue of to & from coming out this week, hosting the ALDO event on Friday night (psst, you can win $100 to ALDO — read this post to find out how), speaking at the American University Social Learning Summit on Saturday, oh and taxes… ya. I don’t even know which day is Monday anymore! But this is the end of the crazy-work-all-weekend-every-weekend stint for me. I’ve got a stack of magazines up to my belly button (seriously). A yoga membership in dire need of usage. Oh ya, and that half marathon I’m running in two weeks but haven’t trained for the past three weeks due to a knee injury that I haven’t been able to make better… ya that (insert scared face here). I’ll run that thing if it kills me.
Anyway, I’m super excited about everything I mentioned above and that the bulk of the “heavy lifting” is almost over because my shoulders are about to tense up to no return. Thanks to my dear friend from KC I have a birthday massage to schedule to take care of those. We’ve got more fun cocktails to roll out in the coming weeks at The B Bar, the spring issue of to & from is going to be awesome, I should be getting the April MANIFESTO tees this week (sorry they are so late — printing communication issue) but hey — they’re filling the pool up at my place!
What I don’t like about biting off more than I can chew in a normal, we’ll say 70-hour workweek, is that then my blog suffers, and I don’t like that. Not to mention my actual life as well. But hey, no one says being your own boss is easy, right?!? I’m here to tell you that it’s not. But it’s still totally worth it and I’m happier in my career than I’ve ever been. Additional wrinkles, gray hairs, tense shoulders and all.
After today (and maybe tomorrow) I should be back on track to normal. Normal posts. Normal life.
So if reading about my tense shoulders wasn’t interesting enough for your Monday (I know, it’s not) — today I’m over on La La Lovely sharing a little bit about my messes (see photo of my desk above), and recently on Social Stylate in for their Boss Lady column.
Have a great day!

VICTORIA SMITH // SFGirlByBay
My new motto is based on a Zig Ziglar quote I heard recently from Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day!: “The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now.” That’s very thought-provoking advice, because all kinds of perks are offered to bloggers and these sponsorships and freebies may seem really tempting, but they’re not always in your best interest. I think it’s important to ask yourself if the sponsor is right for you, your brand, and most especially your readers. Follow your gut instincts — you’ll know in your heart if something doesn’t feel quite right to you and you should pass on those kinds of offers. Your credibility and authenticity is one of your most valuable assets. It’s more than fine to have sponsors — that’s why it’s called a business, but be transparent about it. Be honest with yourself and your readers. Continue reading…
