august 2013 beauty product wishlist - meg biram

Now that I’m using more beauty products — because wow, they work! — I’m constantly reading beauty blogs like I used to read design blogs. And of course, I want to try everything my trusted beauty bloggers recommend. So here’s my beauty wishlist this month:

JOUER Hydrating Lipstick // People — the name of this color is MEG! Obviously I need it. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect lipsticks. I’m super picky about the color (as we all should be, right?) but I’m not nearly as daring as most ladies, so I’m looking for neutrals. Jouer also has a shade called Kate that I’m eyeing.

DEBORAH LIPPMANN Gel Lab Set // Anyone else obsessed with gel manis? I mean they are just so glossy and last so long. Totally worth it to me when I’ve got a lot going on or am going on vacation. But they do seem to be a little hard on the nails, and I don’t love soaking my fingers in pure acetone. I’m game to try this at-home gel mani set from Deborah Lippmann.

MARC JACOBS Brow Tamer // Unfortunately I need this product. It’s just annoying. Brows — why can’t you just stay put! I haven’t been able to find one that doesn’t flake off at some point and make me look like my eyebrows are peeling. Please work!

MALIN+GOETZ Bug Spray // Been getting a few more bug bites than I care to lately (zero is preferable) so if that means dousing myself in bug spray every time I go to the pool — fine by me.

ILIA Balmy Nights // Ok, I need to try some ILIA. Everyone is raving about it. I love that they have a lip exfoliator in a stick form!

FOREO Luna // So apparently this is the new cat’s meow in facial exfoliation. I’d like to try it out for myself. Give my Clarisonic a run for its money.

VERB Ghost Oil // With thin hair it’s hard for me to find a hair oil that isn’t well too oily! I can only use a tiny bit and even then it’s risky.

What are some of your favorite beauty products? Any that you want to try?

  1. lara / the glossarie.

i endorse all of these wishes. i wear the jouer lipstick in whitney – formula is GORGEOUS! based on experience, you definitely need the ghost oil, ilia exfoliator and deborah lippmann set (although don’t expect anything TOO gel-like…it’s still a good option) 🙂

  2. Shelby

For taming your brows, have you tried putting hairspray on a toothbrush and then brushing your brows in place? I do that every morning and it works like a charm with products I already have in my beauty cabinet. Try that if the Marc Jacobs doesn’t work out! 🙂

  3. Sarah S.

I use el cheapo clear mascara from the drugstore to tame my brows. Works like a charm! The $1 Elf version from Target cannot be beat, especially b/c I go through it crazy fast for wildebeast brows.

  4. ame

I literally just returned the Deborah Lippman set. It didn’t work for me at all. Polish wouldn’t stay on either way, this didn’t help.

  5. FripperyVintage

I want to try that Marc Jacobs brow tamer! I love playing up my eyebrows.

  6. Niki

The Jouer hydrating lipstick looks phenomenal. I also love everything by Malin + Goetz!

  7. J. a. CZUBATI

At age 70, I am afraid nothing exists for ruined complexion.
