Besides the large living space in our condo and five closets (I know, amazing) I am spoiled rotten by our consistently manicured lush grounds and Olympic-size pool. Yes it exists in DC! I had to get a photo shoot in at the pool before it closed (it stays open until early October!).
Built in the 1950s, I’ve been told our buildings (there are two) were quite the luxurious spot back in the day. There are still traces of this luxury but it is 60-years-old so its not quite the same. The pool however, the pool is my jam. Even though they updated the chairs this summer from retro-looking ones (in a good way) to new tan ones (which are boring), the pool still has a throwback feel.
In addition to the pool being open until early October, it’s also been a very warm fall so far. It was 90 last weekend so I enjoyed the last days of the pool for the year. Luckily we got this photo shoot in before it closed. Being 90 in early October I pulled out a trusty old LBD (little black dress). This one is silk, so it’s perfect for a hot summer day. Change up the bag, shoes and jewelry and you can wear it all the time.
The look: DRESS — A timeless silk black dress, the one I’m wearing is old Banana Republic. Like o-l-d. BRACELETS — The malachite bracelets (gifted) are part of Elva Fields Original Vintage collection. BAG — kate spade new york 2 park avenue beau bag (gifted). This bag also has a slight retro feel. SUNGLASSES — Warby Parker Everett Sunglasses. SHOES — I am so glad I nabbed these two-tone heels from ZARA last year (similar).
