I’m getting a lot more interested in makeup and beauty products as I get older. I must confess, until now it was a bit of an after thought. I found products I liked and have stuck with them for years and usually never have worn much makeup. Lately I’ve been trying new things. Since I typically work from home, I can try new makeup tricks often. I’m getting more bold with makeup choices (like trying lipstick and liquid eyeliner).
These are a few of my favorite products, some I’ve come across recently, some are old favorites.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment — Seriously, just buy it. You can thank me later. This lip treatment is better than any other I’ve ever used. Ever. I have it in rosé, but there are many colors to choose from, and it’s just a tint of color. Once you try it, you’ll know what I mean.
Cactus Verde Intensive Moisture Body Wash — Known for their amazing candles, Illume has now released their Eternal Nomad collection of body products in some of their delicious scents.
Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara — Not only do I love the brush on this wand as it keeps your lashes separate, but the aqua blast color is such a fun change to always black or brown mascara. I wear it to yoga or during a casual day because it’s not super obvious that you are wearing anything on your lashes. It adds a bit of definition and bulk to your lashes with the fun aqua tint and the tips of your lashes show the most color.
NYX Cosmetics The Curve Liner — At first I was skeptical and thinking this shape was just an advertising ploy to sell more liner. I was wrong. As a virgin liquid eyeliner wearer, this design sits perfectly in your hand making it so much easier to apply. The tip is like a stiff inky marker. I love it.
Bare Minerals Loud & Clear Lip Sheer — Available in three colors, these lip sheers are the only other lip treatment I’ve found to rival the Fresh Sugar lip treatment. This lip sheer is silky smooth and each color has a cheery fresh scent that make you want to lick your lips.
One Love Organics Easy Does It Cleanser — I cannot rave enough about this cleanser. It’s so gentle, yet dissolves even my most intense eye makeup like it’s nothing. It smells amazing. I have one bottle in my shower that I use with my Clarisonic, and one in my vanity. It’s also perfect for traveling because you can actually use this cleanser as a body wash and as a shampoo!
Physicians Formula Powder Palette — This is an oldie but goodie, as in I’ve been using it since high school. I use it as a bronzer because I prefer a bronzer without a shimmer, and this adds color to my face without shimmer. It’s so natural looking and you can find it at most drugstores!

I love love love the sugar lip treatments. Berry is my favorite. It adds the perfect touch of color and moisture.
I have to try that liner. Im such a mess whenever I try to apply liquid liner so maybe it will solve all my problems!
I can use all the help I can get when it comes to liquid liner! I’m going to have to try the curve!
Physicians Formula bronzer is amazing! It’s gives a glow that I’ve only seen come from one other product (Benefit Dallas)!
I would buy the Illume body wash just for the packaging – so chic!
I’m just not into the Fresh Sugar lip line – don’t like the smell! I know, go figure. I prefer Smith’s Rosebud Salve. Oh, and I can’t live without Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for my working-day face!
You should definitely try the Bare Minerals Loud & Clear then. You might like it! I like Smith’s too!

I don’t hate the Fresh Sugar balms, but my lips prefer the Korres lip butters. I love the smell of them, though! I saw the Eternal Nomad items around Christmas and I love the packaging. I think when I finally go through some of my bath products (I’m such a hoarder!), I’ll look into trying them. The scents sound delightful!
Those loud and clear lip sheers are my fave! Never tried Illume but the packaging on their body collection looks gorg.
Haven’t heard much about the NYX liner but I might try it now!

My Mom gave it to me when I wanted to try liquid liner for the first time. It’s awesome, but I’m excited to see a more affordable (and easy to find) option – thanks for the heads up!
